'Verbal communication is like stabbing myself in the groin with a pitchfork, and writing feels as easy as watching a marshmallow turn brown in the campfire.' Don't know if I've ever read a statement I can relate to more. That verbal communication has managed to become less stabby in recent years, more using the other end of the pitchfork.
That’s awesome to read. It is a long, gradual practice of making yourself uncomfortable on purpose. I remember throwing up from anxiety before going out around 2016, but now I often host interviews with other artists. Just repeated running through the coals in bare feet.
Thanks. You have, too. I read your wrap-ups and commentary about submissions and conferences and am always thinking, "Dang, he's got a drive going." If you wanna interview anyone, you'll get there.

Definitely definitely. You've made great progress! I've yet to muster the courage to ask to interview anyone

Thank you so much! That means a lot. A good goal for next year I think - I may well start a segment like yours.
I absolutely love the Essays intro.
Thanks. I woke up and thought, “Did I write anything yesterday that I don’t feel good about this morning?” Nope.
